Connection details to check

Documented connection
RTSP
Credentials
Use the target device login from its current configuration; the recorder login applies when requesting a recorder channel.

Documented address examples

Recorder channel one substream

rtsp://DEVICE_IP:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=1

Use only on a model covered by its manual; confirm login, channel and port.

Prepare the camera

  1. Read the recorder address under Network or System Information.
  2. Confirm RTSP availability in the model manual; select the channel and subtype.

Model and service limits

  • Lorex limits this recipe to certain models. A Lorex app connection alone does not establish an RTSP endpoint.
  • No physical camera has been tested in CameraViewer. Manufacturer documentation does not establish app compatibility.

Your next step

Check the exact recorder or camera manual before trying its local stream.
