Tapo C225: local streams, power and setup evidence

On this page

Indoor Wi-Fi pan-and-tilt camera with lens concealment and local stream documentation.

CameraViewer hardware test: pending. Published camera features do not confirm app playback, audio, camera movement or recording access.

Does it fit your installation?

Worth checking for

Indoor viewing where the manufacturer lens-concealment control matters.

Look elsewhere for

Outdoor exposure, Ethernet or an assumption of app motor control.

The C225 offers a lens-concealment control in its manufacturer documentation. Check how that setting behaves before relying on a continuous view. A hidden lens can explain an unavailable image without a fault in the stream address.

Check the exact hardware before buying

Match the hardware revision and region when checking the C225. The inspected US page lists a 12 V supply; older listings and related products must not stand in for the box you intend to buy.

Match the model, region and hardware revision in the seller listing with the camera label and official documents. Check the included power supply, mounting parts, storage and return conditions. We have not verified current stock, prices or a merchant listing for this model.

Keep the camera hardware identifier and firmware in your setup notes. If the supplied version differs from the inspected source, check that version before copying its stream or power settings. An accessory or storage service can have separate requirements.

Prepare a local viewing test

Start with one camera on the intended local network. Record the stream address, selected codec and documented camera account. Keep credentials out of shared notes. Verify reachability and the selected video route separately from any camera controls.

Use the Tapo setup guide for the manufacturer steps. A working stream in another client is useful evidence for diagnosis; CameraViewer still needs a test on this exact camera, firmware and app version.
